Haiyang city: China has successfully launched two new hyperspectral satellites, "Oriental Smart Eye 01" and "Oriental Smart Eye 02," into space. Both satellites, equipped with ultra-high-resolution cameras, have successfully entered their designated orbits, enhancing China's capabilities in high-resolution satellite imaging.
According to Thai News Agency, the launch was executed off the coast of Haiyang City in Shandong Province, eastern China, using the "Smart Dragon-3" rocket. This mission was conducted by the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center and marked the 12th successful operation of this rocket model. The satellites launched are part of the ambitious "Oriental Smart Eye" satellite constellation project, which aims to deploy over 200 high-resolution smart satellites by 2030. The project includes more than 100 optical imaging satellites, over 100 radar satellites, and four high-spectrum reflectance satellites.
The "Smart Dragon-3" launch vehicle is part of China's Dragon family of rockets, which were developed to accommodate the increasing demand for small commercial satellites and low Earth orbit satellite networks. With a maximum payload capacity of 1.5 tons, the rocket can reach a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 500 kilometers. This mission represents a significant step forward in China's efforts to expand its satellite imaging capabilities and strengthen its presence in the space industry.
