Bangkok: The Department of Dramatic Arts at Chulalongkorn University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, is set to present its annual theatrical production, “Drama of the Arts,” from January 15-25, 2026. This year’s production will take place at the Sodsai Panthumkomol Dramatic Arts Center, located on the 6th floor of the Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Building, Faculty of Arts at Chulalongkorn University.
According to Thai News Agency, the performance is a musical drama honoring His Majesty King Vajiravudh. It is based on the royal composition “Tang Jit Kid Klang” (Cultivating Madness) and directed by Assistant Professor Dangkomol Na Pompetch. The play, titled “Setting the Mind to Go Mad,” is a subplot from the Faculty of Arts and features the “Mischievous and Unruly Theater Troupe,” known for its charismatic and free-spirited actors.
The “Drama of the Arts” production is a collaborative effort involving the Office of the Permanent Secretary, the Department of Cultural Promotion, and the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture. It promises to be a unique theatrical experience, as it includes a “parody within a musical,” titled “Crazy Mind,” brought to life by the “Literary Arts Theatre within a Theatre Group.”
