Siena:Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, the Minister of Labour, has welcomed the results of the Social Security Board elections. He expressed his hope that the newly elected board will operate transparently and adhere to the tripartite principle, ensuring balanced representation of employees, employers, and the government.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chulaphan congratulated the election winners and stated his readiness to collaborate with all parties involved in the social security system. He emphasized the importance of developing the system to benefit insured persons and stakeholders.
The Progressive Social Security Team secured 14 out of 21 board seats, potentially giving them a majority to influence social security reforms. However, Mr. Chulaphan noted that predicting the outcome of votes on various issues remains uncertain, as board members may have differing views.
Maintaining the tripartite principle is essential in labor management, ensuring that no single party dominates decision-making, which could negatively affect stakeholders or the economy.
Mr. Chulaphan addressed concerns about political interference, affirming his role in oversight without intervening in the board's work. He expressed confidence in the election process and the capabilities of elected officials to enhance the transparency and effectiveness of the Social Security Office.
Regarding potential election law violations from businesses offering discounts to voters, Mr. Chulaphan stated he had not seen any details or received complaints. An investigation would be initiated if complaints arise, considering relevant laws and regulations before drawing conclusions.
