Cloud Services and Cybersecurity Top List of Promising Businesses for 2026

Bangkok: The Institute of Trade Strategy at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce has released an analysis identifying the top 10 promising businesses for 2026, with cloud services and cybersecurity leading the way.

According to Thai News Agency, these sectors achieved the highest overall scores across a range of criteria due to the growing digital economy and the increasing need for data protection in response to legal requirements such as the PDPA law.

Associate Professor Dr. Thanawat Polvichai, President of the University of Thai Chamber of Commerce, shared insights into the promising business sectors, citing the influence of consumer megatrends on their growth. The analysis used five key criteria-sales, costs, net profit, risk/competition, and market demand-to predict the business landscape in Thailand for the coming year.

The list of promising businesses includes cloud services and cybersecurity, driven by the expansion of AI/IoT technology and organizational data security needs. Social media, online entertainment, telecommunications, and content creation businesses also rank highly due to increased consumer use of online platforms and the growth of digital communication networks.

E-commerce and businesses related to spiritual beliefs are expected to thrive, supported by robust logistics and a growing interest in belief-based markets. Medical and beauty services, alongside quick cash and AI businesses, are set to expand in response to an aging society and technological advancements.

Logistics, warehousing, and street food sectors will benefit from the rise of online shopping and out-of-home service trends. Renewable energy and health supplements are poised for growth due to clean energy policies and health awareness. Investment consulting and gaming businesses are also expected to perform well, driven by financial planning needs and the popularity of esports.

The analysis predicts a bright future for EV charging stations, fintech, and EdTech, owing to supportive policies and the digital transition. Insurance, non-alcoholic food and beverages, and environmental consulting businesses complete the list, reflecting trends in health awareness and environmental responsibility.

Conversely, the report identifies declining sectors, including internet cafes, print media, and traditional grocery stores, due to outdated business models and shifting consumer behaviors. The Institute highlights the need for businesses to adapt to the digital age to survive and thrive.

The findings underscore the importance of aligning business strategies with economic megatrends, such as the digital economy and evolving consumer needs, to capitalize on emerging opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
