Coach O Confident in Thai Women’s Futsal Team Ahead of Critical Match Against Hong Kong

Hohhot: “Coach O” Thanathorn Santhanaprasit expressed confidence in the Thai women’s futsal team’s prospects, emphasizing the importance of not underestimating their upcoming opponents, Hong Kong, as they prepare for the quarter-finals of the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup.

According to Thai News Agency, the Thai national women’s futsal team, currently ranked 5th globally, is set to face Hong Kong, ranked 29th, in a pivotal match at Hohhot Stadium in the People’s Republic of China. The Thai team has demonstrated impressive form in the tournament so far, having emerged as winners of Group C following a 4-0 victory over Bahrain, a goalless draw with Indonesia, and a 3-1 triumph over Japan. In light of their rigorous schedule, the team opted for a rest day yesterday to recover ahead of today’s crucial encounter.

‘Coach O’ Thanathorn Santhanaprasit, the head coach, stated that the team is in excellent condition, with no injury concerns and a positive mindset boosted by their recent win against Japan. Despite their higher ranking, he cautioned against complacency, warning that Hong Kong possesses a formidable attacking style characterized by long throws and shots. He stressed the necessity of a meticulous approach and the avoidance of errors, underscoring the significance of this match as the team aims to advance to the semi-finals.
