Bangkok: The Community Development Department (CDD) has announced their readiness to host the highly anticipated 'Community Development Day 2026' or CD DAY 2026, slated to take place from September 9-11. Under the theme 'CDD NEXT 2026: Passion - Innovation - Sustainability,' the event will highlight achievements in community development across Thailand, honor key personnel, and outline the strategic direction for the upcoming year.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Warong Saengmuang, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Community Development, addressed a press conference on September 4, 2026, at Seminar Room 3003, Department of Community Development. He emphasized the event's role in disseminating the achievements of community development work, honoring outstanding leaders and organizations, and presenting the development direction for the 2027 fiscal year. The event is set to take place at the Government Administration Building (Building B), Government Complex, Chaeng Wattana.
Mr. Warong explained that this year's concept, "CDD NEXT 2026: Passion - Innovation - Sustainability," reflects a proactive approach that emphasizes dedication to driving initiatives under the Department's values. The event aims to apply innovation and creativity to adapt to the constantly changing modern world, driving the grassroots economy and communities towards sustainable development.
The event will feature various activities, including award ceremonies honoring outstanding leaders and personnel and exhibitions that showcase diverse aspects of community development. These exhibitions will cover topics such as the monarchy's role in community development, the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, women's empowerment, and innovative projects.
A notable highlight will be the summary of community development achievements from 2025, providing a platform for exchanging experiences and publicizing the Department's mission to a broader audience. The initiative 'From Policy to Practice: Clear Policy, Real Implementation, Visible Results in the Field' aims to ensure that policies are effectively translated into practice, with the ultimate goal of creating strong communities and a stable grassroots economy.
Mr. Warong further emphasized that this year's event is not just about reflecting on past achievements but also about connecting the past, present, and future of community development. The event will also feature quality products from all 76 provinces across the country, with over 300 shops offering a wide selection for attendees to explore.
