The Department of Land Transport confirmed that the BMTA will definitely have buses to provide service to the public after the BMTA changed the bus route according to the plan to reform bus routes in the Bangkok and surrounding areas to facilitate people's travel. According to the news on social media about the BMTA stopping its bus service according to the reform plan for bus routes in the Bangkok and surrounding areas on August 31, 2024, the Department of Land Transport announced that the BMTA has adjusted its bus service from the original route to the reformed bus route in the Bangkok and surrounding areas to solve the service problem. The improvement of the bus route network will cover more service areas, reduce overlapping routes, and connect to other types of mass transit systems to meet the needs of the public to the fullest. For routes that have changed from the original route, the Department of Land Transport will have the BMTA collect travel data from the public to consider adjusting the routes to suit the travel needs of the public. The Department of Land Transport and the BMTA have jointly considered ways to reduce the impacts that may arise from the changes in the bus routes. The BMTA has prepared sufficient buses to provide convenience to the public. The Department of Land Transport will supervise the bus routes to comply with the specified conditions. However, the Department of Land Transport is willing to listen to the public's opinions to use as information for planning to develop better services. If the public does not receive convenience in using public buses, they can file a complaint with the Department of Land Transport's hotline 1584, 24 hours a day. Source: Thai News Agency
