Bangkok: Country singer Kai Chanthuang Duangchan, known as the younger sister of the late country music queen Pumpuang Duangchan, was urgently admitted to the hospital for intravenous fluids and antibiotics after developing a high fever.
According to Thai News Agency, Kai Chanthuang shared a picture of herself in a hospital bed wearing a face mask on Facebook, revealing that she was suffering from a high fever of 39 degrees Celsius. Medical tests later confirmed a bacterial infection in her throat, causing the high fever and severe headache. She mentioned that inadequate rest had weakened her immune system, making her more vulnerable to the infection.
Yesterday, Kai Chanthuang updated her followers on her condition, stating that her blood pressure and blood count had significantly dropped. This necessitated additional IV fluids while she awaited further test results from the doctor. A nurse had checked her blood pressure the previous night and found it to be very low, at approximately 90/50. This morning, she underwent blood tests to check her kidney function and a chest X-ray was ordered. Her initial blood count, which was 32, had decreased to 23, requiring another blood test and a third dose of IV fluids. She is currently waiting for further test results and a diagnosis from her doctor and plans to update her fans once the results are available. Fans have been sending their best wishes for her speedy recovery.
