Courtois Supports Lammens After Belgium’s World Cup Exit

Brussels: Thibaut Courtois, Belgium's number one goalkeeper, has extended his support to Senner Lammens following Belgium's elimination from the 2026 World Cup quarter-finals. Lammens, who plays for Manchester United, was thrust into the spotlight after replacing Courtois due to an injury during the match against Spain.

According to Thai News Agency, Courtois suffered a left thigh injury in the second half, which forced him to leave the field in the 71st minute. Lammens, coming on as a substitute, faced a challenging situation and unfortunately made a crucial error in the 88th minute. His mistake allowed Mikel Merino to score, leading to Belgium's 1-2 defeat and subsequent exit from the tournament.

Despite the setback, Courtois emphasized that this experience would be instrumental in Lammens' development as a goalkeeper. Courtois' encouraging words aim to uplift Lammens, reminding him that such challenges are part of the learning curve in professional sports.
