Cremation ceremony for 21 cats from a fire in Don Mueang area

Bangkok, The Ruamkatanyu Foundation held a cremation ceremony for 21 cats that were killed in a fire in a four-story building in the Don Mueang area. They are providing full assistance. The cats that survived are currently receiving treatment. From the fire incident in a 4-story building in the Don Mueang area, 21 cats were found dead, 5 survived. This afternoon, the Ruamkatanyu Foundation brought the bodies of the 21 cats to the Sukkharidalai Pet Crematorium at Wat Klongtoey Nai to send the 21 cats to a good place. The foundation invited monks to perform a ceremony, chant prayers, and pour water to dedicate merit to the 21 cats before wrapping them in white cloth and taking the bodies to the crematorium. Mr. Piyalak Tinkaew, Head of Operations, said that after receiving the report, they immediately went to the area. From checking inside the room, the damage was not even 50% because the officers quickly controlled the fire. Normally, they would check for survivors first, but in this room, there were no peo ple but cats. The officers quickly helped out the bodies of more than 20 cats, with about 4-5 still surviving. The officers quickly provided initial assistance before sending them to the hospital. However, there were 21 unfortunate cats whose lives could not be saved. Yesterday, I went in and found the cat's body. It was almost 100% intact, with beautiful fur, but it had symptoms of smoke inhalation. Its mouth and nose were black, with foam at the mouth. Only 2-3 cats were burned. The cats that survived were helped in every way possible. They performed CPR and found fresh air to prolong their lives. At the moment, the cats that survived are still receiving treatment at the hospital. According to the information in the room, there should have been birds and dogs as well, but they may have been rescued already because no other animal remains were found in the room. Normally, the aunt who raises cats manages well and takes good care of them. But because the room is a closed area, the cat cannot escape. And bec ause the room where the fire started is near the room where the cat is kept, it caused the fire to happen immediately. It is believed that the aunt who owns the cat also feels sorry because of the loss. Now, the aunt is being asked to go and look after the remaining survivors. As for the cat's body, the foundation will take care of it. We would like to tell the aunt not to worry. We will do good things for the cat to send it to a good place. Source: Thai News Agency
