Crime Suppression Division to Address Arrests in Exam Corruption Case

Bangkok: The Commissioner of the Crime Suppression Division is set to hold a press conference tomorrow to discuss the recent arrest of a gang involved in corruption related to local government exams. This announcement follows the capture of three suspects linked to the cheating scandal.

According to Thai News Agency, Police Lieutenant General Nattasak Chaowanasai, Commander of the Central Investigation Bureau, has confirmed the apprehension of Sergeant Pichit, Dr. Win, and his sister. These individuals are key suspects in the ongoing corruption investigation. Their statements, alongside forensic evidence, will play a crucial role in the case file being prepared against them.

The public is urged to await further details to be disclosed at the press conference, which may be presided over by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul. Lieutenant General Chaowanasai refrained from commenting on the helpfulness of the suspects' testimonies, urging attendees to wait for the official briefing.

In addition, Lieutenant General Chaowanasai mentioned ongoing inquiries into other individuals, namely Kit and Som, who were referenced in an audio clip related to the case. A separate investigative team is currently examining evidence concerning these individuals. The outcomes of their testimonies and further evidence analysis will be addressed by the Forensic Science Institute in due course.
