Department of Water Resources Mobilizes Extensive Flood Relief Effort in Nan Province

Bangkok: The Department of Water Resources has deployed a team to assist with the flood relief efforts, including personnel and machinery, to the affected areas. The Director-General of the Department of Water Resources is preparing to deal with flooding at all locations, mobilizing teams of officials and machinery to immediately assist the public.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, instructed agencies under his ministry to provide full assistance to the affected population and to closely monitor the situation to ensure that aid reaches the affected areas quickly. Mr. Teerachun Boonstit, Director-General of the Department of Water Resources, stated that he has instructed regional water resource offices to prepare personnel, equipment, and machinery, and to integrate efforts with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, local administrative organizations, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, and other relevant agencies to continuously support assistance and recovery efforts in flood-affected areas.

In Nan Province, the Regional Water Resources Office 9 (RWRO 9), acting as the forward command center, integrated its efforts with RWRO 1, 2, and 3, mobilizing nearly 50 personnel along with 7 water trucks (6,000 liters capacity each), 6 water pumps, 2 crane trucks, 8 pickup trucks, 1 van, and over 6,000 bottles of drinking water. They were deployed to the affected areas of Ban Ket, Ban Don Si Serm, and Ban Rong in Pua District, Nan Province, to provide urgent assistance and recovery efforts. The Department of Water Resources continues to closely monitor the situation and remains prepared to mobilize resources and equipment to assist the affected population until the situation improves.
