Deputy Governor Adul Embraces New Role in Songkhla After Unexpected Transfer

Songkhla: Deputy Governor Adul Chuthong has spoken out following his unexpected transfer to the position of Deputy Governor of Songkhla, expressing his commitment to fulfilling his responsibilities to the best of his abilities.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Adul Chuthong, who was recently transferred from Phuket, has officially taken on his new role in Songkhla Province. To mark the beginning of his tenure, he paid respects at the Songkhla City Shrine, seeking good fortune for his new journey. He addressed reports regarding his nickname, stating that he never used "Kung" during his civil service career, and was always known as "Deputy Adul."

Deputy Governor Adul acknowledged the transfer order and expressed his acceptance of the new assignment. He viewed the relocation to Songkhla Province positively, expressing his intent to demonstrate his capabilities through his work. Despite the sudden change, he expressed no feelings of pressure and emphasized his readiness to take on his new responsibilities.

He also addressed past challenges he faced, mentioning that he had been threatened with transfer due to his involvement in efforts to curb illegal activities, such as encroachments on Bang Tao Beach and Freedom Beach, and the confiscation of firearms in entertainment venues on Patong Beach. These actions reportedly led to tensions with other officials, including the governor and district chief. Nonetheless, Deputy Governor Adul affirmed his dedication to his duties in Songkhla, stating he would carry out tasks assigned by the governor with respect for seniority and without conditions.
