Deputy Interior Minister Responds to Fatal Ambush in Pattani with Urgent Assistance and Compensation

Bangkok: Deputy Interior Minister 3, Mr. Jetseth, has made an urgent trip to Pattani Province following the ambush shooting of a member of the Volunteer Defense Corps (VDC) in Yarang District, which resulted in a fatality. He visited to offer condolences and ensure that the family of the deceased receives necessary assistance and compensation. Mr. Jetseth met with the Governor of Pattani Province, the district chief, and security agencies to receive a situation report and instructed them to expedite full assistance to the victim's family, including entitlements, welfare, and compensation according to government regulations.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jetseth expressed his condolences and assured that the Ministry of Interior would not abandon the families of those who performed their duties and sacrificed their lives. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the morale of personnel serving in the area and the need for coordination with all agencies to ensure the safety of both personnel and civilians. Mr. Jetseth also stated his intention to convene a meeting on Monday to establish a War Room for closely monitoring the situation and enhancing security measures for personnel on duty.

Mr. Jetseth reiterated that every officer's life is valuable and that the Ministry of Interior considers them part of its family. He emphasized the ministry's commitment to taking care of the officers and their families, not just during times of loss, but throughout their service.
