Khon kaen: Deputy Interior Minister Sasit visited Khon Kaen to monitor community development and support the grassroots economy. He revealed that the “Half-Half Plus” program has received excellent feedback and truly stimulates the circular economy in the community.
According to Thai News Agency, at 10:30 a.m. on November 12, 2025, at the Khon Kaen Primary Educational Service Area Office 5, Chum Phae District, Khon Kaen Province, Ms. Sasithorn Kittithornkul, Deputy Minister of the Interior, and her delegation traveled to Khon Kaen Province to monitor the progress of the Ministry of the Interior’s missions and inspect the work of the Community Development Department. During the event, the Deputy Minister signed a book of condolences for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother and led participants in a moment of silence to express their deepest gratitude for Her Majesty’s immeasurable devotion to the welfare of the Thai people.
The event then visited an exhibition of community products and OTOP products in Khon Kaen Province, reflecting the wisdom and creativity of the community. They also participated in a demonstration of local rice processing, such as khao lam (sticky rice in bamboo tube), khao jee (grilled rice), khao pong (puffed rice), and khao pun (rice vermicelli), a local identity. This demonstration demonstrated the development of community resources into products that generate sustainable value and income. The event also included an exhibition honoring Her Majesty, “The Kindness of the Foundation of Life.”
“Building a Stable and Sustainable Grassroots Economy” conveyed the concept of developing the grassroots economy in line with the royal initiative through the collaborative power of the Community Development Department and network partners at all levels to create jobs, generate income, and enhance the quality of life of the people in a stable and sustainable manner. Ms. Sasithon then presented policies and guidelines for driving the work, emphasizing building a stable grassroots economy, opening career opportunities for all groups of people, and promoting the role of women in the community to participate in local development. She also listened to problems and suggestions from the area in order to determine support guidelines at the policy level.
