Pathum thani: Deputy Minister of Interior 3 has directed the Provincial Waterworks Authority to expedite the restoration of water supply systems in the Rangsit and Lam Luk Ka regions. This follows a disruption caused by a pipe connection work on a 1,200 mm HDPE pipe, which resulted in low water pressure or no water supply for over 36 hours, affecting tens of thousands of households.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jaset Thaiyaset, who inspected the water supply situation in the affected areas, emphasized the need for the Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) to resolve the issue urgently. He instructed the PWA to plan maintenance management carefully and ensure timely dissemination of public information. The Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of avoiding disruptions during holidays or peak hours and urged coordination with other agencies to provide immediate assistance through water trucks and necessary resources.
Mr. Jetseth Thaiseth, Deputy Minister of Interior, reiterated the urgency of the situation, stressing that "the suffering of the people cannot wait." He directed the PWA to resolve the issue swiftly and ensure that residents have access to tap water as soon as possible. The Deputy Minister also emphasized the need for comprehensive communication to help residents plan their water usage effectively.
In response, Mr. Chakpong Khamchan, Governor of the Provincial Waterworks Authority, expressed sincere apologies to the affected public. He assured residents that the PWA is actively working to manage the water supply system and increase pressure. Water trucks have been deployed to distribute water to alleviate immediate hardship, and officials are monitoring the situation closely.
