Bangkok:Deputy Prime Minister Songsak Thongsri has dismissed the opposition's impeachment motion, suggesting sarcastically that those leveling accusations against him and others might need medical attention for having "broken minds."
According to Thai News Agency, Thongsak, whose name appears on a list of 18 individuals targeted by the motion, described the accusations as mere rhetoric. He expressed no fear of being questioned on issues such as flood management, which he views as natural occurrences, stating that the government has made comprehensive efforts to address them.
Commenting on the opposition's no-confidence motion under Article 151, Thongsak acknowledged the opposition's duty to scrutinize the government and stated that the government is prepared to respond. He laughed off accusations of corruption, greed, and manipulation, considering them harsh rhetoric and humorously contemplating a hospital visit due to the allegations of having a "decaying heart."
While unaware of specific allegations regarding collusion with senators, Thongsak emphasized the duty of ministers to answer questions and clarify concerns about governmental performance. Regarding water management, he reiterated the government's commitment to addressing issues despite unpredictable weather patterns, highlighting that relief efforts and funds have been efficiently managed through the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
