Director-General and 4th Army Region Commander Convene to Enhance Southern Border Security

Pattani: The Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration and the Commander of the 4th Army Region convened an intensive meeting with provincial and district chief officials in the southern border provinces to enhance security measures in the area. They stressed the importance of local administration taking responsibility for any incidents in villages and urged officials to ensure community safety.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Narucha Khosasilvilai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, and Lieutenant General Norathip Poynok, Commander of the 4th Army Region, chaired the meeting to assess the security situation and upgrade measures for administrative officials in the southern border provinces. The meeting, held at the 4th Army Region Internal Security Operations Command Forward Headquarters, Sirindhorn Camp, Yarang District, Pattani Province, included provincial permanent secretaries, district officers, and administrative officials from the region.

The Director-General emphasized that district chiefs must upgrade security measures in communities, high-risk areas, and economic zones, particularly in densely populated places and businesses. He urged all personnel to exercise caution while on duty and coordinate closely with other security agencies to ensure comprehensive surveillance across all locations.

Furthermore, Mr. Narucha advised all units to enhance proactive intelligence gathering by integrating operations and exchanging information seamlessly between civilian, police, and military sectors. He stressed the importance of immediate notification to relevant agencies upon receiving any news or indications of an incident, to ensure rapid prevention and response. Additionally, he highlighted the significance of supporting personnel and their families, particularly those affected or who have made sacrifices in the line of duty, urging all units to provide full welfare and morale support.

The Director-General expressed gratitude and encouragement to all officers for their dedication and diligence. He urged them to perform duties with caution, ensuring their safety and that of their colleagues, and assured the public of the Department of Provincial Administration and the Ministry of Interior's commitment to supporting the people and working with all sectors to restore peace and security to the southern border provinces.
