Dr. Teerawat Highlights Rising Cancer Rates in Recent Years

Bangkok: Dr. Teerawat Hemachudha has expressed growing concerns over a sharp increase in various cancer types, particularly among individuals under the age of 50.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Teerawat, the Chairman of the Center of Excellence in Integrative Medicine and Public Health, shared international research findings indicating a severe cancer outbreak with escalating rates worldwide.

Dr. Teerawat noted that the U.S. National Cancer Institute has reported a significant rise in cancer cases from 2021 to 2023. His concerns, shared on Facebook, highlight how individuals, even those not traditionally in high-risk categories, are developing types of cancer that were previously uncommon or had been under control but have suddenly become aggressive. These observations are not confined to Thailand and reflect a global pattern.

Dr. Teerawat thanked Dan, a U.S.-based scientist, for providing the information, which suggests a correlation between increased cancer rates and the widespread use of a particular product in the last four or five years. He criticized initial dismissals by self-proclaimed experts who later acknowledged the increase, publishing research to support these claims. The information is based on research published by the American Association for Cancer Research, which curiously only included data up to 2019, despite being published in 2025.

Recent data from the U.S. National Cancer Institute highlights specific increases: colorectal cancer rose by 19.4%, small intestine cancer by 15.5%, ovarian cancer by 12.8%, gastric cancer by 7.3%, and breast cancer in women by 3.6%. Additionally, non-cancerous brain tumors saw a 19.5% increase. Dr. Teerawat's revelations underscore the urgent need for further investigation into the factors contributing to these rising cancer rates globally.
