Bangkok: The Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) revealed that the draft explanation of the Emergency Decree on borrowing money has been sent to the Deputy Prime Minister. This follows discussions with the Ministry of Finance and related agencies about the 400 billion baht loan decree.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Danucha Pichayanant, the Secretary-General of the NESDC, commented on the drafting of the explanation submitted to the Constitutional Court. This submission seeks to determine whether the loan decree violates the Constitution. He stated that inquiries should be directed to Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilapraphan. Mr. Danucha explained that NESDC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, prepared the explanation last week, which was then reviewed by Mr. Pakorn.
Mr. Danucha mentioned that he was unaware of the exact number of explanatory documents but confirmed that the Ministry of Finance and other related agencies have taken action. The Ministry of Finance is the main agency managing this matter, and all explanatory documents were sent to Mr. Pakorn last week.
Regarding project proposals submitted to the project screening committee, Mr. Danucha, a committee member, stated they are currently under consideration. However, he advised obtaining details from the Ministry of Finance. Concerning the "Thai Helps Thai Plus" project, he noted that the cost of living and inflation are projected to rise, and the project aims to mitigate living costs and support the economy. He anticipates a 0.4% increase in GDP, with approximately 200 billion baht to be borrowed under the Emergency Decree.
