Sa kaeo: Burapha forces employed drones to survey the border area of Ban Nong Chan – Nong Ya Kaeo, revealing a calm and protest-free environment.
According to Thai News Agency, Burapha Task Force officials conducted a drone survey of the Thai-Cambodian border near Ban Nong Chan and Ban Nong Ya Kaeo in Non Mak Mun Subdistrict, Khok Sung District. This action aimed to assess the situation and monitor developments after reports indicated a calm environment earlier in the day. The drones covered the barbed wire fence and the border slam zone, with results showing no unusual activity, especially on the Cambodian side, despite earlier rumors of potential mass gatherings.
Officials noted the presence of about 10-20 Cambodian soldiers stationed at a blue shelter, a key observation point across the border. These soldiers showed no signs of advancing towards the fence or engaging in actions that might escalate tensions.
On the Thai side, Burapha Task Force personnel, in collaboration with the Village Security Guard (VSC) and local community leaders, conducted patrols to maintain peace and order. They coordinated with military and administrative agencies to ensure continuous monitoring of the situation.
Local sources indicated that villagers kept a watchful eye on the border throughout the day to observe any movements from the opposing side. The situation remained peaceful, with no indications of violence or clashes.
Officials emphasized that the evening drone patrols are part of a continuous surveillance plan aimed at providing real-time assessments, enabling quick reporting and response to any irregularities.
The Burapha Task Force reassured that it would maintain readiness at all border points, coordinating with security agencies to prevent unforeseen incidents and ensure round-the-clock security for the residents in the Sa Kaeo border area.
