Bangkok: DSI orders lawsuit against "Dr. Boon" and his gang for defrauding 605 people, causing damages of more than 14,200 million baht. As the Department of Special Investigation received the transfer of the criminal investigation report from the Metropolitan Police Bureau, Royal Thai Police, in the case of Dr. Boon and his associates being accused of jointly committing an offense under the Royal Decree on Fraudulent Loans to the Public B.E. 2527 and its amendments, and an offense under the Anti-Money Laundering Act B.E. 2542 and its amendments, and other related offenses, as Special Case No. 136/2567 on December 27, 2567, the Department of Special Investigation, by the Division of Justice Affairs, together with the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO), jointly investigated and collected evidence from the accusers and victims, totaling more than 605 cases, resulting in damages of 14,246,048,033 baht, and 13 perpetrators have been arrested and entered into the case.
According to Thai News Agency, after Friday, January 24, the special investigation team in the case met and resolved to propose to the public prosecutor to indict 16 suspects on the charges of 'jointly borrowing money in a fraudulent manner from the public under the Royal Decree on Fraudulent Borrowing Money from the Public B.E. 2527 and its amendments and jointly defrauding the public under the Criminal Code.'
Today (27 January), Pol. Lt. Col. Yuthana Phraedam, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation, assigned Pol. Lt. Col. Wisanu Chimtrakul, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation, Head of the Special Case Investigation Team, and the Special Case Investigation Team No. 136/2567, to submit the investigation report of the special case, totaling 342 files, including more than 130,000 pages of documents, along with the opinion to indict Dr. Boon (surname withheld) and his accomplices, a total of 16 people, of whom 13 have already been arrested (another 3 are at large and are being tracked down, including Dr. Boon), to the Office of Special Cases for the public prosecutor to give their opinion on the case.
