Bangkok: The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has been honored with the Prime Minister Award: National Startup 2026, highlighting its dedication to fostering an innovative ecosystem and promoting startups like INNOPOWER and InnoSpace to enhance national competitiveness through innovation and support a sustainable transition to clean energy.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Minister of Labour, led the Prime Minister Award ceremony for 2026, where Mr. Warit Rattanachuen, Deputy Governor for Strategy of EGAT, accepted the award in the Best Brotherhood of the Year category at Siam Paragon Shopping Center in Bangkok. The award recognizes EGAT's efforts to support an innovative ecosystem that cultivates and strengthens startups for robust growth through its group companies, including INNOPOWER Co., Ltd. and InnoSpace (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
INNOPOWER is engaged in investing in technologies and businesses related to clean energy innovation and sustainability, both within Thailand and internationally. The company provides consulting and management services for business sustainability and energy innovation development. InnoSpace is a collaborative effort between government and private sectors to support the growth of early-stage Thai startups, particularly those involved in deep tech, aiming to transform them into regional innovation hubs.
EGAT and its group companies are committed to producing electricity to maintain power system security while actively supporting the innovation ecosystem and sustainable growth of Thai startups. The goal is to develop innovations that can evolve into new industries, known as the New S-Curve, thus enhancing the country's competitiveness through innovation.
