EGCO is confident that Taiwan’s Yunlin power plant will be able to supply electricity to the grid as planned.

Bangkok, EGCO Group board follows up on progress of Yunlin in Taiwan, confident construction will be completed on schedule by end-2024. Dr. Prasert Sinsukprasert, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Dr. Jiraporn Sirikham, President of Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group), visited and monitored the progress of the Yunlin offshore wind farm project in Taiwan. The project recently installed 80 wind turbine monopiles. The construction and installation of other equipment is proceeding according to plan. Currently, 64 wind turbines (Wind Turbine Generators - WTGs) have been installed. This progress reinforces the confidence that the project will be completed and supply electricity to the grid, with a total capacity of 640 megawatts, by the end of 2024. When the project is completed, it will generate income and continuously strengthen EGCO Group's cash flow. EGCO Group holds a 26.56% stake in the Yunlin Project, with a total generating capacity of 640 megawatts, located in the Taiwan Stra it, approximately 8-30 kilometers west of the coast of Yunlin County, Taiwan, and covering a total area of ??approximately 90 square kilometers. It has a 20-year power purchase agreement with Taipower (Taiwan Power Company). Currently, commercially operating wind turbines have an average capacity factor of over 40%, confirming their potential for generating income in the future. When the Yunlin Project is completed by the end of this year, it will be able to generate clean electricity for more than 600,000 households in Taiwan. Source : Thai News Agency
