Egg Dispute Leads to Violent Altercation Between Uncle and Nephew

Udon thani: An altercation over a simple egg purchase turned violent in Udon Thani, leaving both an uncle and his nephew injured.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident began when Apichat, known as "Ple," became angry with his nephew, Kitchai, referred to as "Ball," for buying fewer eggs than desired. The confrontation escalated when Apichat, allegedly under the influence of drugs, used an iron baton to strike Kitchai on the head, causing severe bleeding.

Kitchai, a security guard, retaliated in self-defense by using a pocket knife to stab his uncle once. Despite calling the police three times with no response, Kitchai drove himself to the Udon Thani City Police Station, where he reported the incident while still covered in blood. Police Lieutenant Wasan Nathongsi was on duty and coordinated with rescue workers to provide first aid before transporting Kitchai to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The investigation revealed that the altercation was rooted in a domestic dispute at their residence. The nephew's failure to purchase enough eggs led to a heated argument, which quickly turned physical. After the violent exchange, bystanders intervened, and Apichat fled the scene. Police are currently searching for him for further questioning.
