Bangkok: The Election Commission has filed seven charges in the Senate collusion case, with expectations to conclude proceedings by the end of August. The commission remains committed to resolving the case promptly, despite acknowledging that some charges may require further investigation.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sitthichot Intrawises, a member of the Election Commission (EC), provided insights into the ongoing Senate collusion case. He confirmed that the investigation is progressing, focusing on several charges from the total of seven. While the commission has identified minor yet crucial details that need further consideration, particularly those involving politicians, it plans to review these issues by mid-August. Mr. Intrawises emphasized that the EC chairman has set a timeline aiming for completion by the end of August. He noted that extensions are unlikely, as ordering additional investigations could lead to perceived delays.
Mr. Intrawises also commented on Mr. Yingcheep Atchanon, the manager of iLaw, expressing uncertainty about the source of his information and cautioning against any actions that might harm the integrity of the case. The Election Commission is keen to avoid any public perception of delaying tactics, despite the complexities involved in securing sufficient evidence for all charges.
