Bangkok: An electric car fell from the Si Ratch Expressway at the Rama 3 interchange, crushing a motorcycle on Charoen Rat Road and injuring two people. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage to determine the cause of the accident.
According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage from Charoen Rat Road in the Sathorn district shows an electric car veering off the Si Ratch Expressway and falling onto a motorcycle below, in front of the Tai Hong Kong Jade Shrine. The incident occurred around 9 PM. Police from the Expressway Police Station 2, along with rescue workers from Lertsin Hospital and volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, arrived at the scene. They found a gray EV, registered in Bangkok, severely damaged and overturned, blocking the far left lane. Rescuers used hydraulic cutters to extricate the driver, a male, who sustained serious injuries. Behind the car, a red and black motorcycle was found lying on its right side, also severely damaged. The motorcycle driver, Mr. Bajarullah, 68, an Indian national, suffered a fractured wrist and was taken to the hospital.
A motorcyclist who witnessed the incident revealed that while driving under the bridge, he heard a loud bang before seeing the electric train suddenly fall from the bridge, landing on a motorcycle driven by a foreign man who happened to be passing by. People in the area were shocked and rushed to help the injured man, while also notifying authorities to investigate.
