End of Cadmium: Ministry of Industry reveals 100% of cadmium transported back to source in Tak Province

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry added that for the inspection and determination of the repair guidelines for the cadmium sludge landfill in Tak Province, there was a joint inspection by relevant agencies, experts from the Engineering Institute of Thailand, and the participation of local people on June 28, 2024. The cadmium landfill was inspected for leaks by injecting approximately 50 cubic meters of water. The results showed that no leaks were found. In addition, to assure local people that the concrete surface of the pond is strong and safe, low pressure cement injection was used to prevent the surface from cracking. As for the inspection of the strength of the concrete surface, a scanner will be used to check the density under the concrete layer. It is expected that the entire landfill process will be completed by N ovember 2024.
