According to Thai News Agency, the Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, is promoting adventure tourism under the campaign '10+10 MICE Adventure: Work Hard x Play Smart.' Recently, a group of influencers and media representatives participated in activities such as kayaking through mangrove forests and tunnels, releasing mud crabs back into their natural habitat, and taking a boat trip to admire the beauty of Phang Nga Bay. This journey included exploring famous 'Jurassic World' film locations around Koh Song Phi Nong and Koh Nakaya. Participants also viewed the iconic Khao Ta Pu, also known as 'James Bond Island,' which was featured in the film 'James Bond 007: The Man with the Golden Gun,' and observed tourists canoeing around Koh Hong.
The Department of Tourism aims to use this project as a mechanism for creating new experiences while distributing income to communities, homestays, and local entrepreneurs. The initiative focuses on developing knowledge and tourism standards to upgrade areas to accommodate the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) market, establishing the region as a potential adventure tourism destination both domestically and internationally. The Phuket-Phang Nga route, with its blend of sea, mountains, nature, culture, and diverse activities, is highlighted as being seamlessly integrable with conferences, seminars, and team-building activities. The new concept of combining work and adventure on the same trip aims to position Thailand as a new MICE Adventure destination in Asia, fostering new tourism experiences and sustainable income distribution to communities.
