Family Demands Death Penalty for Man Who Murdered His Wife

Nonthaburi: The family of a murdered woman is still enraged and wants the man who killed his wife to be sentenced to death. In a shocking incident, a husband murdered his wife and transported her body in a car before surrendering himself at a police station. The victim's family is set to receive her body for religious ceremonies today, expressing their desire for the death penalty for the culprit.

According to Thai News Agency, the case involves Mr. Winai, who assaulted his wife, Ms. Joy, leading to her death. He then drove her body to the Bang Bua Thong Police Station to surrender. Today, at Sala 4, Wat Phai Lueang Temple in Nonthaburi Province, the family gathered to receive Ms. Joy's body for the first night of funeral rites and prayers, amidst a somber atmosphere.

Ms. Kanjana Saengphuek, the aunt of the deceased, expressed her continued resentment towards Mr. Winai's violent actions. She described his actions as "intentional murder" and dismissed his claims of love for Ms. Joy as self-serving excuses. She revealed that her niece had been supportive of Mr. Winai despite frequent instances of physical abuse. Ms. Joy had even asked her aunt to give him another chance, although Ms. Kanjana only offered warnings.

The family has emphasized that the case has left them deeply shocked. They are urging authorities to impose the harshest possible penalty on Mr. Winai, including the death penalty, as they believe his actions were an act of unacceptable cruelty. They affirmed that they will not forgive him.
