FIFA Orders Removal of Seven Stars from Egyptian National Team Jerseys

Cairo: FIFA has directed the Egyptian national football team to remove the seven stars from their jerseys ahead of their World Cup opener against Belgium on June 16th. The stars, which represent Egypt's seven Africa Cup of Nations titles, have been deemed non-compliant with FIFA's regulations for World Cup attire.

According to Thai News Agency, the Egyptian Football Association informed the media about FIFA's instructions to alter the jerseys. FIFA's rules specify that World Cup jerseys can only feature stars that signify World Cup championships, not achievements in continental competitions. This directive requires Egypt to modify their jerseys promptly to align with these regulations before their first match in the tournament.
