Finance Minister admits to reviewing Thai ESG stock ratings

Government House, "Pichai", Finance Minister, admits that there must be a review of the rating of stocks in Thai ESG after the EA stock problem. Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, talked about the issue of shares of Energy Absolute Public Company Limited (EA) whether it will affect the Thai ESG fund that we have increased the credit limit or not. He said that being in the Thai ESG portfolio, which has invested more than 6,000 million, is less than 1% or looking at the shares held, approximately 0.34%, which has a slight impact on the net asset value (NVA). Mr. Pichai admitted that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) must review the rating of all Thai ESG stocks. As for whether or not he is concerned that it will affect confidence in the capital market, Mr. Pichai admitted that it is something that can happen, but when asked if he chose the right group, he said that it must be accepted that this is the direction the world is heading. If there is only this issue and he is worried, he cannot do so. When there is a problem, it must be solved. Source: Thai News Agency
