Pattaya: A fire erupted in a pub located in downtown Pattaya, resulting in the tragic death of a 29-year-old male employee who was unable to escape the blaze. The fire broke out late at night, leading to a swift response from emergency services. Authorities are now focused on uncovering the cause of the fire.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident took place in a one-story concrete building situated on Soi 29, Chalerm Phra Kiat Road, South Pattaya, in the Bang Lamung District of Chonburi Province. The fire reportedly began inside the establishment, and despite the rapid intervention of firefighters, the flames had already claimed one life by the time they were extinguished.
Witnesses, including shop employees, reported that the deceased, identified as Thanapol, was preparing for an event with 4-5 friends inside the pub when smoke was seen rising from the ceiling. The flames soon followed, prompting everyone to evacuate the premises. Unfortunately, Thanapol was in the restroom when the fire started and could not escape in time.
