FKI chief, British deputy PM discuss cooperation

SEOUL, The head of the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) met with Oliver Dowden, Britain's deputy prime minister, on Tuesday during which they discussed economic cooperation, the federation said. FKI Chairman Ryu Jin met with Dowden, who was visiting South Korea to attend the third Summit for Democracy hosted by Seoul this week, at the federation's headquarters in the country's capital. According to the federation, the two sides shared their commitment to making further efforts to expand bilateral cooperation in the future. The executives discussed promising areas for bilateral cooperation, such as offshore wind power, renewable energy and infrastructure, and explained the difficulties they experienced when entering the British market. Last year, the business communities of the two countries organized a bilateral business forum to mark the 140th anniversary of diplomatic ties between South Korea and Britain.
