According to Thai News Agency, the community of Ban Prang, Pua Subdistrict, Pua District, Nan Province, remains muddy and covered in debris after being swept away by flash floods four days ago. Several government agencies, along with local residents, are continuously mobilizing heavy machinery to aid in the recovery efforts. Upon inspecting the narrow streets and alleys, many houses are still submerged in mud. Homeowners are rushing to clean, washing the mud away before it dries and becomes impossible to remove. Damaged belongings such as bedding, pillows, and furniture are being dumped along the roadside, awaiting removal by the Pua Subdistrict Municipality.
Mr. Noraset, a resident of Ban Prang community, Pua Subdistrict, Pua District, took a news team to survey the condition of his house, which was filled with mud and damaged belongings. Many electrical appliances and items had been discarded in front of his house, awaiting sorting and repair. He told the news team that he had lived there for over 60 years and this was the most severe disaster he had ever experienced. The flash flood swept into the community with furious force, reaching almost to the second floor, above his head. His belongings were swept away, and his car was washed away. He described the losses as the most devastating he had ever suffered. He urged local government agencies to develop a more effective warning system.
In Nan City, the flood situation has eased, with water receding in all areas. Today, our news team surveyed low-lying communities such as Sri Kham Market, Tangjitnusorn Market, and shops along Kha Luang Road. Merchants were cleaning and restoring their shops since early morning, pushing mud and debris from the flood onto the streets, awaiting collection by the Nan City Municipality. Low-lying communities like Ban Phumin-Tha Li are completely dry, leaving only the restoration and cleaning efforts to restore Nan City to its former beauty.
