Flooding at Chiang Rai’s home stadium prompts postponement of Thai League game

Singha Chiang Rai United Football Club has requested to postpone this weekend's Thai League match against Nakhon Pathom United, even though it will be an away game, due to flooding at their home stadium. Mr. Mitti Tiyapairat, President of Singha Chiang Rai United Club, revealed images of flooding in Chiang Rai Province, which has reached Singha Chiang Rai Stadium, the home of Singha Chiang Rai United. Previously, Mr. Mitti announced that this stadium would be opened as a temporary shelter for disaster victims, which has now had to be temporarily closed, but assistance can still be coordinated. In addition, Chiang Rai has requested to postpone this Saturday's Thai League game, in which the team will visit Nakhon Pathom United. The disciplinary committee of the Football Association has resolved to punish referee Anusorn Nookaew with a 6-match ban and VAR referee Winat Phophat with a 2-match ban for their misconduct in the Thai League match between Ratchaburi and Port Authority on September 1st. The referee gave a red card to Ratchaburi goalkeeper Kampol Pathom-arkhakul, who was sent off the field. However, after the disciplinary committee investigated, the player who committed the foul was Adisorn Promrak, who used his hand to push Port Authority forward Theerasak Poeiphimai until he fell. Kampol only acted to stop the opposing team from attacking, and was only punished with a yellow card. Source: Thai News Agency
