Forensic Officers Investigate Dismemberment Murder in Ratchaprarop

Bangkok: Forensic officers inspected the crime scene in the Ratchaprarop area after a dismemberment murder. Police officers from Din Daeng Police Station, along with forensic officers, inspected room 239 on the second floor of an apartment building in the Ratchaprarop area, which is believed to be the scene of a dismemberment murder case.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Athit Phungam, or "Oo," 48, a resident, was the one who broke down the door to the room because the caretaker expressed concern about not seeing the young woman for several days. Upon entering, he found clothes soaking in a basin in the bathroom. The room appeared unusually clean, resembling a hotel, and had a faint, unpleasant odor. Despite a thorough search, he found nothing but suspected something was wrong due to a strong stench and open windows. It was only the next day that he learned the body had been found dismembered and placed in plastic boxes.

Mr. Oo recalled seeing the suspect, Mr. Aung Pye, on June 8th, appearing tense and suspicious. Despite not being close, they exchanged greetings as neighbors. Mr. Oo expressed shock upon discovering Mr. Aung Pye was the suspect, as he had seemed like a good person. At 9:45 AM, forensic officers and investigators arrived at an apartment in Soi Ratchaprarop 14, to examine the crime scene and collect evidence related to the murder of a Myanmar woman, whose remains were found in a black plastic box. Officers searched for human remains, particularly the victim's missing head.

Officials requested nearby workers' cooperation to help drill through pipes and open the septic tank to check for disposed body parts. Initially, they faced an obstacle due to the apartment's large septic tank and significant waste. The investigating police, in consultation with forensic officers, coordinated with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's sewage truck service to remove waste for examination and facilitate the search for missing fragments.
