Bangkok: “General Bird” has publicly criticized Cambodian leader Hun Sen, accusing him of using soldiers and civilians to mitigate the embarrassment suffered internationally regarding the PMN2 landmine issue.
According to Thai News Agency, Lieutenant General Wanchana Sawasdee took to Facebook to express his views on the matter, highlighting that Hun Sen attempted to obscure his reputation as the “worst leader in the world” by leveraging the lives of Cambodians. General Wanchana emphasized the need to revisit video and photographic evidence showing Cambodia’s deployment of PMN2 landmines, which were presented by Thailand at the 22nd Ottawa Convention in Geneva. These materials illustrated the harm inflicted on soldiers by the new landmines, with footage captured via mobile phones during area clearance operations around Phum Makheua and Sam Tae. Despite advocating for peace, the actions of Hun Sen were portrayed as inciting conflict.
