Bangkok: The Cabinet has officially appointed General Chaiyapruk Duangprapat as the new Secretary-General of the National Security Council, effective October 1, 2026. According to Thai News Agency, this decision was part of a series of appointments approved by the Cabinet, as revealed by Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office.
Among the other significant appointments, Ms. Pojaman Thachin has been named the Director-General of the Department of Science Service, under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. Her appointment, proposed by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and approved by Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Yoschanan Wongsawat, is effective from the date of the royal appointment.
Furthermore, Mr. Kornin Kanjanomai has been appointed as the Director of the Budget Bureau. Previously serving as the Deputy Director of the Budget Bureau, Mr. Kornin's new role is set to commence on October 1, 2026, following approval from Mr. Paradorn Prisnanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office.
Additionally, the Cabinet has confirmed the placement of three civil servants into senior administrative roles within the Prime Minister's Office. Mr. Wisut Chatranuchat, Mr. Somchai Khontrong, and Mr. Thitinan Singha have been appointed as Inspectors-General in various capacities, with their appointments taking effect from September 1, 2026.
