Bangkok: “Big Pom” has expressed his ambition to secure the highest number of MPs in the upcoming election, challenging the 70 million citizens to decide if they still want him in politics. General Prawit Wongsuwan, who is a party-list MP and the leader of the Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP), shared these thoughts following the party’s annual general meeting, where he noted the proceedings were conducted smoothly.
According to Thai News Agency, when questioned by reporters about his target for MP seats in the next election, General Prawit candidly admitted the desire to secure as many as possible. However, he was taken aback when asked about fielding candidates in every constituency, suggesting that such an endeavor would be overly ambitious.
Further addressing his political future, General Prawit deferred to the public’s opinion, stating, “We can’t answer that. You have to ask the people. Go ask everyone. Go ask all 70 million people.” His remarks highlight the pivotal role of public opinion in the decision to continue his political career.
Following the general meeting, General Prawit appeared in high spirits, warmly interacting with party members. He engaged in friendly exchanges, including posing for selfies with those who approached him, reflecting a personable and approachable demeanor.
