Giant mountain frog, weighing 1.2 kg. Betong’s famous food.

Yala, Rubber farmers in Betong I spent my free time not tapping rubber. I went out to look for frogs and got a big mountain frog weighing 1.2 kilograms. I've seen bigger ones weighing up to 5 kilograms. Mr. Bunsak Saejiang, age 60 years, house is in a fruit orchard. Than Nam Thip Subdistrict Municipality, Betong District, Yala Province, took a walk to look at a frog that was locked in a 200 liter water tank. He picked it up and weighed it. It weighed up to 1.2 kilograms. Mr. Bunsak said that he has a job as a rubber tapper. From time to time he goes to the forest with his friends to look for frogs, when the rubber leaves are falling out. Because it is winter and it will be the dry season. Go on the waxing moon night. Because during this time, large frogs will come down to play in the water along the creeks and canals. This frog was caught on a mountain near the Thai-Malaysia border. Seven frogs were caught. These frogs were medium sized. The biggest one we got in this round was about 2 kilograms. Nowadays , large mountain frogs are becoming difficult to find. Because most of them are in the deep forest. I've seen large ones about 3-5 kilograms long. For mountain frogs, they live in fertile forests. Found mostly along the Thai-Malaysian border in Betong District and nearby areas.
