Global warming drives high demand for air conditioners, this year sales will grow by 2-6 percent

The Ministry of Commerce joins hands with the private sector to prepare for the 2024 Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Expo and the 2024 Electrical Appliances and Electronics Expo, which will meet all needs to reach Net Zero, from 4-7 September at BITEC. It emphasizes that the world is getting warmer every year and the world has an increasing demand for air conditioning products, especially in the US, Europe, and ASEAN markets. This year, the industry is sure to grow by 2 percent or have a value of over 8 billion US dollars. Ms. Natthaya Suchinda, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, said that the Department of International Trade Promotion has joined hands with the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Group and the Electrical and Electronics Industry Group, Federation of Thai Industries, to organize the Bangkok RHVAC 2024 and the Bangkok E and E 2024 exhibitions, which will combine new innovations that meet market demands and are in line with changes in the global situation, along with a variety of products and services from leading Thai and international manufacturers under the concept of 'One Stop Solutions for Net Zero Future', fulfilling all needs to reach Net Zero during 4-7 September 2024 at the BITEC Bangna Exhibition and Convention Center. 'The largest air-conditioning, refrigeration, electrical appliance and electronic exhibition in Southeast Asia. This is because the manufacturing industry of such products in Thailand has developed and invented new innovations that meet market demands and are in line with changes in the global situation, resulting in Thai products being accepted by buyers around the world. As a result, Thailand has always been a leading manufacturer and exporter. This year, it is back to being held in full form for the first time after the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus under the concept of 'One Stop Solutions for Net Zero Future', which will respond to the important global trend that the Thai air-conditioning, ref rigeration, electrical appliance and electronic industry intends to move towards the Net Zero emissions target in 2065,' said Ms. Natthaya. It is expected that there will be a large number of participants from 800 booths from Thailand, ASEAN, China, Hong Kong, Korea, India, the Middle East and Europe. It is expected that there will be more than 10,000 visitors from around the world, including leading air-conditioning manufacturers, air-conditioning component manufacturers, refrigerator and freezer manufacturers, as well as experts in cold room design and construction and many other activities in the event. Dr. Narun Sirisanthana, Chairman of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Club, Federation of Thai Industries, said that Thailand is still the main air conditioner production base for major brands at the international level. However, Thai entrepreneurs themselves must develop products to keep up with the global trends that are continuously changing and to be appropriate for the demand situation of the domestic and global markets, such as developing products that are highly efficient, energy-saving, and use environmentally friendly refrigerants or use alternative energy such as solar power according to the Net Zero approach, using IoT and AI technologies to help monitor performance, analyze, and control air conditioning systems for maximum efficiency, or developing products that meet various health issues such as PM2.5 and indoor air quality, etc. The air conditioning and refrigeration industry has given importance to adapting to the Net Zero society by reducing greenhouse gas emissions through various methods, such as switching to environmentally friendly refrigerants, developing more efficient equipment to reduce energy consumption, including using alternative energy such as solar power, or promoting the appropriate use of cooling machines to reduce food loss, which has an effect on reducing methane emissions from spoiled food. The Thai industry has shown its awareness and support to participate i n the country's Net Zero plan seriously. Everyone can follow and visit the various innovations of the industry to aim for a Net Zero society at Bangkok RHVAC 2024. Mr. Suradej Boonyawatana, Chairman of the Electrical and Electronics Industry Club, Federation of Thai Industries, said that the current situation of Thailand's electrical and electronics industry, the export forecast for the electrical and electronics industry in 2024, is expected to grow by approximately 2-5 percent, especially in upgrading the electronics and semiconductor industry to become a global investment base for semiconductors, as well as linking the government sector, education sector, and manufacturing sector together. The important markets of the electrical and electronics industry are still the United States, Europe, China, Japan, and ASEAN. The opportunity for new markets should be when China or the United States relocates to use Thailand as a production base for export. It is expected that in 2024, the export value of the said in dustry to important markets will increase due to the problem of global warming that increases every year. The demand for the air conditioning industry group will increase. Therefore, it is believed that the total value this year will definitely exceed 8 billion US dollars. -514 Source: Thai News Agency
