Bangkok: Gometh Sukprasert delivered an outstanding performance, clinching a gold medal in BMX at the SEA Games. Gomet Sukprasert showcased a superior performance, setting the best time and clinching the gold medal in the BMX Time Trial event at the 33rd SEA Games. Puttapoom Nakpaen took the silver medal.
According to Thai News Agency, the BMX cycling event at the 33rd SEA Games, held yesterday at Kamol Sports Park on Suwinthawong Road, Nong Chok District, offered one gold medal in the time trial event. The event was honored by the presence of General Decha Hemkrasri, Vice President of the Asian Cycling Confederation and President of the Cycling Association of Thailand, along with Thai cycling fans who came to cheer on the Thai cyclists.
In the time trial, each athlete competed in two laps to determine their best time, and the cyclist with the fastest time won the gold medal. The gold medal race featured seven athletes from five countries, including two Thai riders: Gomet Sukprasert, a three-time Asian champion, and Phutthapoom Nakpaen, the 2025 Asian Youth Champion. Gomet did not disappoint, achieving the best time of 34.526 seconds, securing his second SEA Games gold medal after previously winning at the 30th SEA Games in the Philippines. Phutthapoom won his first SEA Games silver medal with a time of 35.568 seconds. The bronze medal went to Tatrick Bren Koo from the Philippines. This brings the Thai BMX team’s total to one gold and one silver medal.
