Government Awards Over 344 Million Baht to Honor Thai National Athletes

Bangkok: The government held a ceremony to present prize money to honor the Thai national athletes. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, presided over the ceremony to present prize money to honor athletes, coaches, sports associations, officials, and personnel of the Thai national sports team. This award serves as a morale booster for those who have brought honor to the country through four major sporting events: the 12th World Games in Chengdu, People’s Republic of China; the 32nd Summer Universiade in Rhine-Ruhr, Federal Republic of Germany; the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain; and the 2025 World Transplant Games in Dresden, Federal Republic of Germany. The award, totaling 344,085,000 baht, was presented to athletes, coaches, and sports associations for their outstanding performances at international sporting events and competitions.

Ms. Nattareeya Thaweewong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Sports Authority of Thailand, the National Sports Development Fund Executive Board, sports association executives, athletes, and national sports personnel coaches attended the event.

During the event, real-time money transfers were made to athletes, ensuring that prize money was instantly transferred to their accounts.

Mr. Atthakorn expressed his congratulations and appreciation to all involved in the sports competition. He also carried the Thai flag to demonstrate to the world Thailand’s athletic prowess. He affirmed the government’s readiness to support in every aspect. He stated that this event marked a success and honor for the Thai national team athletes, once again bringing pride to the Thai people.
