Bangkok: The government held a religious ceremony to commemorate the 50th day since the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavadi, Krom Luang Rajasarinisiripatchara Mahavajrarajathida. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the 50-day memorial service, which was attended by cabinet ministers, heads of government agencies under the Prime Minister's Office, government officials, and staff from Government House.
According to Thai News Agency, the ceremony was led by Somdej Phra Phutthacharn, a member of the Supreme Sangha Council and Chief Abbot of the Eastern Region, at the Santi Maitri Building. During the ceremony, the Prime Minister lit incense and candles to honor the Triple Gem and performed the ceremonial offering before the princess's image. The event included the recitation of precepts by officials, chanting of Buddhist prayers by high-ranking monks, and the offering of traditional Thai offerings and food to the monks.
The Prime Minister also offered ten sets of funeral robes, after which the monks chanted prayers and delivered a sermon. A 47-second period of meditation was dedicated to His Majesty the King. Further symbolic acts included the Prime Minister pouring water to receive blessings and paying respects before the princess's portrait. The ceremony concluded with an alms-giving ceremony, where ten monks received offerings in front of the Santi Maitri Building.
