Government Offers Double Tax Reduction for Meetings in Secondary Cities

Bangkok: The government has extended an invitation to businesses to take advantage of a double tax reduction by holding meetings and seminars in secondary cities as part of its initiative to bolster the regional economy. This incentive is available until December 15, 2025.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, the Deputy Government Spokesperson, announced that the government is persisting in its efforts to implement tax measures aimed at stimulating the regional economy. By encouraging businesses to conduct meetings, training sessions, and seminars in “secondary provinces,” the government aims to distribute income to local areas and support local tourism, along with hotel, restaurant, and service sectors.

Under these measures, legal entities that organize activities in secondary provinces can benefit from a “double expense deduction,” while other provinces are eligible for a “1.5 times deduction” of expenses, as per the criteria established by the Revenue Department.

The deputy spokesperson emphasized that this measure is a vital component of the tax policy designed to rejuvenate the domestic economy, a priority for the government under Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The measure seeks to employ tax mechanisms to stimulate tourism, distribute income, and strengthen the grassroots economy sustainably.

Nationwide organizations and businesses are encouraged to plan activities, meetings, training sessions, seminars, or company outings in secondary provinces to maximize the tax benefits and contribute to the stimulation of the local economy towards the year’s end. The measure remains valid until December 15, 2025, and agencies are urged to expedite their planning to take full advantage of the benefits before the deadline.
