Hat yai: Prime Minister Pan has announced he will not seek any further political roles following recent flooding events. Mr. Narongporn Na Phatthalung, also known as Mayor Pan, addressed the media this morning, expressing his decision to step away from politics. “I’m not playing any more games. I’m not playing any more games. That’s all,” he stated firmly.
According to Thai News Agency, when questioned about the timing of his potential resignation and whether it would occur soon or later, Mayor Pan offered a vague response: “Let’s see.” This uncertainty extends to his plans to care for his grandchildren, leaving the timeline of his exit from political life unclear.
Regarding the public’s call for his removal, Mayor Pan expressed that he had exerted his utmost efforts during his tenure, emphasizing his dedication to his role. He acknowledged the petitions from citizens demanding his ousting, stating that it was ultimately up to the people’s decision.
When asked about the possibility of facing legal action, Mayor Pan admitted that it would depend on future developments. He refrained from commenting on whether he would fulfill his current term or resign earlier, before attending a significant meeting on the Hat Yai city restoration plan at the Buri Sriphu Hotel, where he sat alongside Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul.
