Hat Yai police led a team to arrest an Indonesian man who stole 1 million baht in cash from a pickup truck that the owner had just withdrawn from the bank. The Hat Yai Police Investigation Unit, together with the Songkhla Provincial Police Investigation Unit, the Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat Police Investigation Unit, and the Nakhon Si Thammarat Tourist Police, jointly arrested a 45-year-old Indonesian man who was suspected of stealing 1 million baht in cash in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province on October 21. The police followed the CCTV footage of the bronze Honda Civic with a Nakhon Si Thammarat license plate, which was the vehicle used in the crime, and found that he had fled to Nakhon Si Thammarat Province and was staying at a hotel in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. The officers waited until the suspect left the hotel and got into the sedan before arresting him. A search of his bag found only 400,000 baht in cas h, out of the 1 million baht he had stolen. This incident occurred at 4:30 p.m. on October 21. A victim withdrew 1 million baht from a bank in Hat Yai and placed it in the cab of a pickup truck behind the driver's seat. After that, he drove up the Satchakul Bridge but found that the left door of the car was not closed tightly. So he parked the car and got out to close the door, but it turned out that the 1 million baht in the envelope that he had just withdrawn from the bank was gone. The last place that the thief is believed to have stolen the money was when he parked the car in front of a restaurant near the Bang Hak community, so he went to file a complaint with the Hat Yai Police Station. From the investigation, the suspect stated that at the time of the incident, he parked his car to wait for a friend who went up to exchan ge money at the bank and saw a woman withdrawing a large amount of cash from the bank. So he followed her and found that she had handed it to someone in the pickup truck parked in front of the bank and drove away. So he drove after her and saw the opportunity to do it when the pickup truck owner went down to do some errands. He got out and broke the car door to steal the cash and fled to Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.
