Interrogation of suspects in the car bombing of police flats at Bannang Sata Police Station

Interrogation of suspects involved in the bombing of the Bannang Sata police flats, urgently expanding the investigation into the gang members, expected to still be hiding in the border area. The national police chief is preparing to visit the area this afternoon (July 1). The area where the car bomb exploded in front of the Bannang Sata police flats occurred has been inspected for evidence since this morning, especially around the vehicle that caused the incident. The body of Ms. Rokiyah, aged 45, a teacher at the Kampong Lalae Mosque, was buried according to tradition yesterday (June 30). According to reliable sources, officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage to track down the motorbike and the person who parked the pickup truck. They already know the description. As for the motive, it is thought that two weeks ago, officers took in four suspected insurgents who were active in Bannang Sata and Than To districts for questioning. Two of them are still being held captive, possibly because they were ang ry and retaliated. However, other possibilities are not yet ruled out. The vehicle used in the incident was a government vehicle in Thanto district, so two people involved were brought in for questioning. They are currently in custody. From the EOD officers and forensic evidence, initial evidence shows a bomb weighing more than 80 kilograms and a fuel tank hidden in a blue Toyota pickup truck with 4 doors, set to go off 10 minutes after the perpetrators parked the vehicle and fled. While 11 injured people are still being treated at the Yala Police Hospital, 10 are police officers and 1 civilian. At Bannang Sata Hospital, there are still 3 injured people whose general conditions are not serious, with some chest tightness and minor wounds. As for the other 5 people, doctors have allowed them to return home. This afternoon (July 1), the National Police Chief and the Fourth Army Commander will travel to Bannang Sata District Source: Thai News Agency
