Italy Claims Third Consecutive Davis Cup Title with Victory Over Spain

Bologna: Italy has emerged victorious in the Davis Cup Finals 2025 men’s team tennis championship, defeating Spain 2-0 in the final. This win marks Italy’s third consecutive title, achieved at home in Bologna, Italy.

According to Thai News Agency, the Italian team secured their win with standout performances from their players. In the first match, Matteo Berrettini, ranked second in singles, defeated Spain’s Fabol Carreno Busta with a score of 6-3, 6-4. The decisive second match saw Flavio Cobolli, Italy’s top-ranked singles player, overcome Spain’s Jaume Munar with scores of 1-6, 7-6(5), 7-5. This victory allowed Italy to successfully defend their championship title, adding to their wins in 1976, 2022, and 2023.

The Italian team received a prize of 2 million US dollars, equivalent to 64.78 million baht. Notably, Italy secured this victory without the participation of Yannik Sinner, the world number one, and Lorenzo Musetti, world number eight, both of whom opted to withdraw from the tournament.

Spain, competing without the injured world number one Carlos Alcaraz, reached their 12th final but last claimed the title in 2019. As runners-up, Spain received 1.5 million US dollars, or 48.59 million baht, in prize money.
